Debuted in 1977 as the vocalist “Michel” of the band “LAZY,” a shining star in the history of Japanese rock, leaving behind classics like “Akazukinchan Goyoujin” and “DREAMER.” After moving to Nippon Columbia in 1985, he encountered anime and tokusatsu songs, establishing his position as a representative of Japan’s anisong scene with the theme songs for Fuji TV’s “Dragon Ball Z” (“CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA”) and TV Asahi’s “Saint Seiya” (“Soldier Dream”).
Currently, as an “anisong artist” who writes, composes, arranges, and produces, he participates in numerous projects. He is also expanding globally as the leader of the anisong singer unit “JAM Project.”
